Nonprofit hopes benefit will aid efforts to lift many from poverty


Last year’s “Stuff the Hummers” event brought together donors and volunteers who worked to create a merry Christmas for children in need. This year, a classic car show and contests for ugly sweaters and best hats have been added.


Group that empowers ladies will hold golf benefit

Wings of Hope uses a three-stage program that seeks to address basic needs for women and their families such as housing (ranging from transitional to permanent), education, skills development, substance-abuse counseling, case management, employment assistance and community re-integration.
